Kirat

The entire grade 5/6’s were putting their bags in the bus, and my bag was heavy as, and it was only for 3 days. I said goodbye to my mum and grandma and sat in the bus (I sat in the small bus).We were off, we were off to Camp Rumbug! On the way to Camp Rumbug we stopped at a place called Kooweerup. We had our snack and were off again. When we were in the bus we were surrounded by beautiful views and farmyards. When we reached at Camp Rumbug we all had lunch.
Day 1
Our first activity was Titanic Raft. It’s a square boat with no sides and has 4 tiny paddles attached.4 people can sit on it on a time and you had to get to the other side. I got to have 3 turns. After that we had our snack. We had apples and oranges and cordial. I think our 2nd activity was canoeing but I'm not confident. I forgot to tell you that when we reached Camp Rumbug we were told our cabins and to put our stuff. At night we had dinner and went for the night walk.
Day 2
Day 2 was a tough day. We had a lot of activities to do like the Inactive course, Adventure Bridge, Scare Bear, Archery, Abseiling, Canoeing and Environment Ropes. My favourite activity was the Scare Bear. It felt high as the Eureka Tower and the scariest part was the countdown “3, 2, 1!” “AHHH!” I screamed, I thought I was going to die but I was saved by a parachute behind my back. We went back inside and it was all dark and muddy. We changed our clothes and ate dinner and had the disco.
Day 3
Day 3 was the last day at Camp Rumbug so we started to pack-up and put our bags outside. We had breakfast and went to the hall and the Rumbug assistants were showing the lost property. After that we all went outside and had some sausages from the sausage sizzle. We left before St Kevin’s and reached school before the big bus. When the big bus arrived we all got our bags and went home.

Emily C

Camp Rumbug was a great experience. I had lots of fun there. It is in a type of a rainforest. You can see great views from there. We drove up a long, dusty road and there it was. It looked like a small school. When you walked in the main entrance there were shoe racks. We went through big doors and there was a long corridor with doors along the walls. They gave us our cabins and mine was number 16. It was really big and it had 14 beds in there. There were only twelve of us.

I did a lot of fun activities at Rumbug. We did ten. My two favourite activities were the scare bear, which was a giant swing, and canoeing. In canoeing my partner was Olivia. We nearly fell out of the canoe into the water. It was really funny. We also did a fun and fitness course.

The food at camp wasn’t the best but it was alright. On the first day we had roast lamb for dinner. Through the days we also had lasagna, pancakes and eggs. On the last night, after the night walk through the bush, we toasted marshmallows over a fire. They were really yummy.

I met lots of new people and made lots of new friends. Some of the mew people I met were, Katelyn, Damien, Taylor, Chiara and Luca.

Camp was a great experience and I can’t wait until next year at Camp Cavehill.
