If I had to put camp cave hill creek into one word I would say it was AWESOME!!! I enjoyed all of the activities my favourite
would have to be canoeing, my partner was Chelsea and boy she would not stop screaming! I got wet because Chantelle and i had a water fight. The concert and disco was
a blast and it was fun to see my friends and classmates
do acts and the teachers dance. My
cabin for camp was full of all my friends we all had so much fun we all ate so much lollies we felt sick!!The most exciting part at camp was when we arrived and saw our cabins.I thought camp was a great learning experience and I would never regret going even though my feet hurt.On the last night everyone went on a bush walk I was so scared because everyone said that there was DROP BEARS and all the boys wouldn't stop scaring us, but I kinda felt safe because me and my friends all walked in a group.I felt sad on the last day because I didn't want to leave as I had got used to my cabin and the camp.I would never forget comimg to camp Cave Hill Creek, I can't wait till next year....Rumbug here we come!!

On Wednesday the 10th of October, grade 5/6 C and grade 5/6 J went to camp. It was a 3hr trip.
The first activity for me was archery. I was excited to hear that I’m doing archery. The closest I got was in the red which is one level down from Bulls-eye!!
I felt a sense of achievement when I did that.
Next up was Mountain Biking. When i saw the bikes, I said to myself, “I can’t ride those big bikes!” Then I did.
I was proud of myself. Then Jordan .M and myself got lost.
We both were worried. Then we found Mrs. McHugh. We were relieved. After that was canoeing. I felt a tingle go down my spine.
I was paired with Julian. Julian was scared when I swung the boat. I couldn’t wait to get into to the reeds because I wanted to see leech. Not on me though! Yuk.
Last but not least we did a rope course.
Everyone couldn’t wait to do it because it was so fun. When I finished the course once, I was determined to do it again. I ended up doing it four times!! It was so fun and I want to do it again. One of the times when I felt a bit awkward is dinner because I m a very fussy eater!
On the third day I missed my mum when I was bike riding, I sort of missed my sister’s singing, music and her nagging at night and I missed my dad’s annoying questions at dinner.

This gave me an experience of a life time. I can’t wait until we got o Camp Rum Bug. I hope the food is good next time!!

Last week the fives and sixes went to camp Cave hill creek it was the best school camp ever. My favourite activity was the canoeing. It was so fun and it was a great experience for me. I went in the canoe with Daniel he kept on rocking it and I didn’t want to fall in because I fell in last year with Kevin. It was so relaxing just looking in the water and watching the wind make little waves. A few times I saw some ducks there were so cute. The life jackets were so cold but I didn’t mind. When I went in the canoe Mr.c pushed us off of the sand bank the canoe started rocking and I thought I would fall in. I didn’t want to fall In because I heard that Amanda fall in and got bitten by a leach.

Archery is my favourite activity. I had a magnificent shot. It was a bulls-eye. COOL. I thought it was awesome. I was so happy. Although I think it might have been players luck. It was the first time I did archery and I'm happy that I got a bulls-eye I would love to go next year because camp was a blast of excitement this year. I already can't wait till next year. My feelings about sport is happy and joyful. and I could not go to sleep because of all the excitement.I cant wait for next year.

Camp was an amazing experience one that I had never experienced before. The activities were amazing; the food was great and the wildlife was an amazing sight. Some of my favourite activities were canoeing, archery, hut building, biking and low ropes there was a few more but I didn’t like them as much. On the first night we went on a night walk, the teachers tried to scare us by saying a few years ago a boy got grabbed around the neck by a drop bear and he ran which is the worst thing you can do, so you better stay in pairs or groups. On the first night in the cabins none of us could get to sleep because Lydia was making so much noise, but eventually we got to sleep. The next morning we had breakfast and after that we went onto our next few activities and one of my activities that day was canoeing. As we walked to the canoe shed I started getting nervous and as I was hopping into the canoe it was shaking and wobbling I felt like I was going to fall right out of the canoe but luckily I didn’t. After the canoeing we went to another activity and then to lunch. We sat by the lake and some of us were even looking for the platypus. Soon enough it was the end of the day and it was coming to the end of camp. The next day everyone was packing their bags and getting ready to go and soon enough we were gone.

Camp was much more fun then I expected. We did a lot of activities like canoeing, rope challenges, archery, compass work, bush walking, mountain bikes and much more. Most of it was a first for me like archery, mountain bikes and canoeing. In archery it feels good to hear people encourage you and best of all, to get a bulls-eye at my first time.
The mountain bikes were really fun but the hardest bit was to change the gears. the best part though was going fast downhill with the cool breeze in my face.

Canoeing was also fun. At first I tried to be the one to steer ( turn ) but that did not work so well. So I swapped seats with my partner because he also wanted to and I and it went perfectly.

I don't think anyone liked the bush walking. Everyone was tired after it, bush walking for
1 HOUR. Some tried to scare girls because it was so dark.

When it was the end of camp I was still surprised I didn't see my mums car behind the bus on the way. Hahahahahaha

Packing:
Gosh, I didn’t think it would be this hard to pack. Mum says I packed enough for three years not three days! I said to her that we would get really dirty, you know rolling in mud, falling in the creek, getting splashed, all that kind of stuff, you know. Woops, I had better go and finish packing or when I get to school on Wednesday I’ll be late for the bus.

The Bus Trip:
We are on the bus and I’m waving good-bye to my Mum, Dad and little sister, Olivia. A few minutes before I got on the bus, Olivia came running out of her classroom and gave me a great big hug and kiss so did my Mum and Dad. I am going to miss them sooo sooo much.

I am sitting next to Pauline and right behind Don the bus driver. Next to us are Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. McHugh and behind them are Deanna and Tiana. Pauline, Deanna Tiana and I have been talking pretty much the whole trip and have had heaps of lilies. I used up a whole roll of film (27 photos) on my camera. Luckily I had another camera to use, but I had to be careful not to waste it.

At The Camp Site:

Day 1:
As soon as we got there, we had to go to our cabin and unpack. My first activity was canoeing. I was feeling really happy because I have a canoe and have had the experience. (One hour later). Canoeing was so much fun. I loved it and we even saw a wallaby, which Kayla named 606.
Our next activity was bike riding. I was so so scared because I didn’t know how to ride a gear bike. In the end, the gear bike turned out to be really fun. Next, we had the night walk. MY FEET WERE KILLING ME!!!
When we got back, Deanna and I were lying In the rec room and I was scratching my ankle and I fund that I had blood on my fingers and I called Mr.C and he put a band add on it. 2 seconds later I was bleeding again so I called Mr.C and he said that it was a leech bite. After that I was kind of panicking and then at that stage I felt some thing regaling on my big toe so I pulled my sock of and a big black thing dropped onto the carpet and then I looked down and I saw a leech. After that I nearly fall of my chair and fainted and on top of that I nearly though up as in vomit.
Day 2:
Last night I didn’t get even a wink of sleep. Amanda Denaro, Laura Mc., Elana, Chiara, Chelsea, Jasmin, Beata, and Chantel were soo, soo, soo noisy. I heard every word they said.

We have just been told my group is doing orienteering. (One hour later). Orienteering wasn’t as fun as I thought but next we had mapping. (Later). Mapping was fun. My partner was Kayla. Next we had photography and Mrs Jackson is going to take us, and my partner was Tiana. Gosh, Tiana doesn’t SHUTUP or stop WHINGEING, and she kept deleting my photos! Next we had low ropes. (At low ropes). “This is so fun” and I said along with my other friends. First I had to walk on a wobbly bridge, then balance on a rope and hold a string above our my head, then swing on another string, then walk across a rope with two ropes crossed trying to block me, and then balance on a wobbly log. Next, walk on a rope while holding several other ropes, then balance on two ropes next to each other and last but not least, walk along a rope and hold a swinging string. We had to do all of that without falling off. There was also other part, like trying to get a tyre over a big, tall stick or log, and back on it. Another activity was, we had to get through a big tyre without using the ropes on either side, holding the tyre up and the rest of the group had to push you in. The second last one is where I had to help every one go through a heap of ropes without them touching the ropes. The last one is where everyone had to stand on a tree stump and not fall.
The last activity was Archery. (At Archery). I keep shooting the arrow every where except a bullseye. It’s so frustrating and Desmond just got a bullseye. How does he do that? Mrs Jackson is pulling her arrow right in line with her bow.
(After Archery). Now we have to pack up the cabin and put our bags and luggage outside. We are going to watch the rest of the film ‘Holes’, on the bus. On the bus, I’m sitting next to Deanna and we are eating heaps of lollies and Deanna has gummy bears and lolly pops. We use the lolly pop sticks to make skewers for the gummy bears.
When the bus arrived back at school, my Mum and my sister were waving and blowing kisses.
This was the best camp ever and I will never forget it. I had so much fun.

CAMP CAVEHILL!
Camp was nothing like I expected it to be. I thought it was going to be really scary. Although it was scary at times, it was the best experience of primary school. Just like I anticipated. My favourite activity was canoeing. I had never canoed before and it will be an experience I’ll remember. The scariest part of camp was when we went on the night walk. I was extremely scared about the leeches and falling over in the dark. Once we got back to our cabins I was so relieved that it was over. The activity that most challenged me was orienteering. I thought it would be really easy, but I found it quite difficult. I had never used a compass before, but when I got the hang of it, it became easy. When I woke up on the last day of camp, I was really sad. I didn’t want it to end. But once I got home I realised that one more day would have killed me!I will always remember Camp Cave Hill as being a fun filled adventure!

Camp was the best thing I've ever done. I was excited and nervous at the same time as we arrived I put my luggage down and waited till Mr C assigned us to our rooms. As he was reading my heart was pounding louder and louder he read faster and faster my heart was pounding i was so happy that Deanna Beata and Bella were in my group. All the activities were good but but I had to say canoeing was the best. it was energetic and adventerous fun but scary and I've loved to do that again some time

On Wednesday 10th of October, the grade 5/6 went to camp at Cave Hill creek, for three days and two nights. About a week before camp I had to write about what were looking forward to when we get to camp. I really thought camp would be different to what I imagined it. Firstly I really enjoyed the canoeing cause it was the first I had ever been on a canoe, another thing that I liked the mountain bike riding because our group was the first to ride the new bikes. The bad thing was that we had to drop our bikes and walk through paradise walk during the day because we went through it the night before and it looked amazing. The photo taking was awesome cause we got to do it in pairs and I did it with Adam. I did everything with Adam.

Ben

The thing was the most fun at camp was the canoeing. It was favourite activity because it was fun .The most challenging activty was the compass work it was to know where to go and where stuff was .The most tiring was the maping because I had walk lot .The most hardest was the rope course because you had to have good balance.

NathanY

Camp at Cave Hill Creek was great. My favourite activity was the bike riding. During the bike riding Aiden and along with a few other people and I took the wrong turn and got lost when we realised we took the wrong turn we rushed back in a hurry because I didn't want to get lost. Especially in the forest.
The cabins were great. The first night in the cabins I stayed up all night. The first night someone let off a stink bomb and when the teacher walked in the cabbin because of the noise their faces went all wierd because of the stink.

The food was alright but tthe chicken fillet was THE BEST!!!

Isabella

When we arrived at camp my heart started to race so fast I felt it was going to come out of my chest I was so excited when we got off the bus ,Mr C immediately started telling us our activities. All the activities were really fun and challenging my personal favorite was the low ropes and archery I was OK at both of them.Canoeing was the worst i was really scared all the ride it felt like I was going to fall and all the leeches would stick to me the thing that really scared is my friend got a leech on her leg i was freaking out screaming every two seconds everyone agreed I am no the best canoer. We ate every meal in the rec room the food were good and the cabins were fabulous luckily i got the bed i wanted the coolest part of it was the disco and performing my act everyone mucked up it was so funny. It was really really funny seeing the teacher in there pj's every morning. On the last day of camp we built huts of course my group's (The bugs) hut was the best it was the saddest to leave but i just cant wait to Camp Rumbug

Laura's Blog

Hi 5/6!

WEDNESDAY 10TH OF OCTOBER- FRIDAY 12TH OCTOBER

We all rush to get out of the bus and we are waiting to see our new home for the next three days. I can feel everyone’s excitement in the air. I know that everyone is bursting to go and have a look at the campgrounds and find out what group we are in. We all gather in the “rec room” and find out all the information about camp. I can’t sit still; I’m just raring to go. Our group’s first activity was compassing. It wasn’t the best activity, except it gave us a challenge. One of the next activities was archery. Once I was taught how to do it, it was much easier and I nearly got a bullseye, therefore it was on the wrong aim. The next activity was one of my favourite, canoeing. I was a partner with Samantha.C. It was her first time so I had to say all the positive things. Nothing went wrong, we got in a middle of a race but that was about all. At the end my arms felt like jelly, but it was worth it. All the girls were checking if we had leeches after Amanda got bitten the night before. After all the excitement of the canoeing, we were extremely motivated for the next activity. Ropes here we come! We rush to get to the front, it looks easy but it wasn’t. It was good fun because you had the chance to keep on trying. It was the last day and it was raining so we couldn’t do much, until we went for a “walk”. We stopped and suddenly saw all this land with a lot of sticks. Mr. C made a team activity, building huts with all the different sticks. We ended up all participating and contributing ideas. We loved what we had come up with and had a look at all the other fantastic huts.

This was one of the best Camps ever!

CAMP 07
The thing that I enjoyed most was canoeing. It was my favourite activity because I loved having the experiance of being in the canoe. I love the colour of the water when the sun shines on the water. The thing that I also enjoyed was the nightwalk. Because Mr. C told us a story about drop bears. So most of the people got scared especially Kailah, Tiana and I. We were so scared we had to get body guards, so they could protect us from the drop bears. It was so tiring because we had to walk up about a million stairs and on a gigantic bridge.
When we got home Kailah, Tiana and I were so relieved and I think that our body guards were to, so we could leave them alone. I really enjoyed camp and I will never forget that great experience. Camp Cave Hill taught us many valuable life skills and I enjoyed all the activities and had a good time.

Camp Cave Hill Creek 07

A few weeks ago the grade 5/6 went to camp. When I got there I was really scared. My favourite activities are the Rope coarse, Bike Riding, Archery and caneoing. I heard that the food wasn’t that good but it wasn’t that bad.I like that rope course because I like to climb things and when I was little I was a big fan of Spider man.

I haven’t done Archery in a few years so I was nerves. But I still got a bull’s eye! But I thought it was a fluke. The things that challenged me were when my group went to the compass activity. I have never used a campus in my life. When I got up I thought I was at home. When we were leaving I didn’t want to go back it seemed so short. Time flew at camp.

On the bus Michael Talia brought Night at the museum to watch o the bus. It was about A guy that got a job at the museum and the museum came to life. The bus trip took 3hours to come back to school. Finally were back back at school yay!and it was almost 3:30pm and time to go home. The bell when and everyone raced to their cars.

Olivia

On Wednesday the 10th of October grade 5/6cp and 5/6jp went to 'Camp Cave Hill Creek'. About a week before we left for camp, we had to write about our expectation of what camp would be like. Once I got there, it looked like nothing I expected. The food was okay, but that was what I expected ( it was nothing like my mum's great cooking). My favourite activities were mountain biking, coening and the night walk. Staying up late in our cabins talking was great. The disco was great! I even saw a couple of teachers get up and dance! The hut building was challenging. It was difficult to find a good strong frame to hold up all the other sticks to prevent it from collapsing on us. The bunk beds were unusually placed. They were surprisingly comfortable ( I slept on the top bunk). Over all camp was terrific and I can't wait for next year so " Make way camp Rumbug because Olivia is coming soon!!!

Camp 2007
I really enjoyed Camp Cave Hill Creek, I espically enjoyed the ropes course because I wasn't very good at them until I really concentrated and I made it across 3 times.....eventually!
There was heaps more activities then i expected there to be,I only thought there would be canoeing, low ropes and absailing, but there was low ropes canoeing bike riding, archery, working with maps and compassing.
I got challenged using the compass because there were too many arrows pointing in different directions but then one of my friends came and helped me.
Through the time of camp I had my moments when I missed mum and dad but I got through those times.
I really, really, really enjoyed mapping because it was sort of like a tresure hunt which I liked.I had a good partner to work with and that I thinked really helped me.
Archery, was another challenge. At first I couldn't even reach the board or hay but by the end of the activity I reached the board. I think I really improved on that.
Both of the bus trips were the most boring trips of my life.
But over all camp was a great experience!

Camp Cave Hill Creek Camp was one of the best camps I have ever been to. It was nothing that I had expected! I extremely enjoyed all of the seven activities: canoeing, bike riding, mapping, the rope course, taking photos, orienteering and archery but my absolute favorites were canoeing, bike riding, the rope course, taking photos, and archery. I really loved the night walk it was great getting to have a chat with my friends but at the same time I was a little afraid that something would jump out of the bushes and attack me but after I had calmed down I was alright! I really loved being
In a cabin and having a laugh with my cabin members.
It was fun playing games on
The oval like soccer, footy, Newcomb, and I loved the food over there.
The disco was heaps of fun; all the acts were very entertaining camp was one of the greatest
times I have had in a long time
IT WAS GREAT! CAMP CAVE HILL CREEK WAS THE BEST!!!

CAVE HILL CREEK
Im at camp im so excited, we all look in the cabins, and then we go to the rec room where we eat our meals. We go to our cabins and pack then we went and did our first activity. It’s the second day we’re tired because we didn’t get any sleep, I feel more comfortable at camp because I know where everything is. Here is a cool picture of Cave Hill Creek

Camp Cave Hill was the best experience ever! We stayed there for three days and two nights. When we arrived at camp it looked so different, to what I expected. One of the activities I liked was the rope corse. It was HILARIOUS watching Mrs. Jackson do the rope corse. My favourite activity was canoeing. However I didn’t stay dry long enough as Adrian wet me.
On the first night we went bush walking and I was a little scared. When we were bush walking I saw a dead kangaroo. It was disgusting! On the last night we had a concert. When we were performing our act, I could not stop laughing!
Finally it was the disco! It was funny watching the teachers dance. Sadly the day had come to go home! I would recommend this camp to anyone!

Camp 07

camp was fun, it was different to Rumbug.

the Reck room was really, in it was table tennis and a fireplace.

the first activity was canoeing, it was great fun. then the reeds came, everytime we were in then we scream. we all had fun. most of us saw a wallaby, kaliah named it Bob.

the night walk was fun until we got lost.

we saw a dead kangaroo. we all got back to camp safely.

On the 2nd day we did mapping Amanda and I saw a echidna,

we named it eddie the echidna.

I thought camp was fun. I hope everyone enjoyed it.

Mathew

Camp Cave Hill creek was so different to Rumbug. It was my second and last camp for this year. The most challenging thing was the rope course, and the canoeing. The ropes were fun but after my hands were cramped, it seemed easy but it wasn’t at all, the canoeing was freaky because the leeches live in the creek and there just waiting there to bite us.

The thrilling activity was the bike riding. We got lost, we kept on going back and forwards, that was really adventurous and a great experience. Another good thing was spending time with my friends 24 7, I also enjoyed was the food because it’s different to what I have at hom
e.

The most hilarious part of camp was the camp acts. Then after we had a disco, the bad thing was there were no flashing lights that was bad, but besides that it was good every one was dancing, jumping and singing. The disco finally came to an end.

Friday, that’s the day we left, we did a few more activities then it was good bye Camp Cave Hill. Camp was extremely fun, but I’m looking forward to next year’s camp in high school.

Lydia

When the 5\6 students arrived at camp I felt excited when
We were assigned to our cabins. We put our luggage away.
Then we went to the recreation room to start our activities.
My favourite activity was the night walk. I felt excited and happy; I got scared so I walked with the teachers. They also needed a torch. We walked for ages. We finally arrived at the campsite. Sat down in the recreation room till supper and then went to bed. I had lots of fun and I can’t wait until next year when we go to Rumbug.

Georgia.L

As I hopped off the bus I felt excited, happy, nervous, scared and names of so many other feelings I don’t know the names of. My heart was racing so fast I felt like I was about to have a heart attack. The fist sight of the camp I thought it wasn’t really what I expected but it would have to do. After the teachers assigned us tour cabins I was so happy because the teachers assigned my group the on sweet cabin, which had a bathroom (shower, toilet and basin with a mirror) in it. The activities that I did were archery (that was fun even though Adam and I had to help Lydia try and hold the bow and arrow right, the other activities I did were bike ridding, canoeing, orienteering and mapping work but they were all ok but my favourite was the ropes course I was the only one in my group to go through the course seven times and only fall off once. I didn’t sleep both nights while I was at camp but the last night was the worst because the disco was horrible and I did an all nighter because I was really excited but I don’t really know why, but when I got home I was so relived to get into my own bed and sleep.

Natalie B

Camp was an experience I will not easily forget. I loved all
Of the activities and my favourite activities were Canoeing,
Archery, Hut building and the ropes course. I also loved the
Food it was all mouth watering. I had ten people in my group
And we were called the Aussies, In my group were Nicola,
Natalie, Hannah, Elana, Chiara, Jordan, Julian, Simion, Ben
And my-self. My favourite part of camp was spending time with my friends in our cabin. I also can’t wait to go next
year with the year fours when we go to Rumbug and I hope everyone has a great time at camp next year.

Samantha C

I finally arrived at Camp Cave Hill after a boring bus ride. We collected our bags and put them against the wall before we were told the rules and activities in stall. My heart was pounding with excitement with a hint of happiness. After a while we went and did our first activity… Orienteering. I was so bored because I could not work the compass. I doubt I will ever do that again. After a little while waiting, we went and did the Rope Course. It was really difficult, but I had so much fun. In my head I was thinking I am really bad at the Rope Course. I kept rocking back and forth while my stomach was full of laughter. A long time later, after eating dinner, Mr C called us to the floor. I felt the butterflies in my stomach fly much faster. I had become nervous. I knew what Mr C was going to say. He then said, “We are going on the night walk”. It started to echo in my head. When I took the first step outside I held onto Genevieve’s arm along with Nicola. About halfway in the walk we found a dead kangaroo. When we got back I was so glad to be indoors. I felt a warm rush travel across me, which made me feel a lot safer, but then of course something always had to go wrong. Then I see Mr c crouching next to Amanda Di Censo. So me and my friends go over to Mr C and ask what’s wrong, and when he said that Amanda got bitten by a leech I was filled with fear as I was doing canoeing tomorrow. We had our supper and later headed off for bed. We were ready for bed, we had a quick peek outside, and then shut the door. Then all of a sudden I hear Georgia screaming and Nicola shouting that there’s a frog1 I was laughing when Mr C and Miranda were taking photos of the dead frog.
LIST OF DEAD INSECTS AND ANIMALS WE FOUND…
Dead moths
Dead frog
Dead spider
Alive spider in my bed
And a rubber snake in Nicola’s bed (which I put there)

I had the best day of my life today and I can’t wait for tomorrow.

Elana

I loved camp it was the best experience I have had I a long time. Camp cave hill was defiantly better then rumbug inn lots of different way. Cleaner, fanner and better activities.

One of the things that I didn’t enjoy much about camp was the roof was made out of hay and I have hay fever.

The activity I liked best was canoeing, it was really fun and we were able to get wet and dirty!

The cabins I really enjoyed because I was with all my friends and we were able to talk and play an till we feel asleep!

Camp at cave hill creek was really fun and I hope I’ll be able to do it again some day.

Hannah Z

Cave Hill creek was a really fun and entertaining experience and I thought that it taught us many valuable life skills. I enjoyed Cave Hill Creek because I was able to spend time with my friends and enjoy the feeling of spending the whole day outside in the forest. Even though it had its down sides I still had a great time. The very moment that I stepped out of the bus, my body filled with many, many different feelings like, happiness, wonder, shock, excitement, adventure, caution and a whole lot more but didn’t know how to explain them. The activities where fun and some challenging if I had to have chosen one activity to be my favourite it would have been, canoeing because, I felt free, calm and relaxed. Most people enjoyed canoeing and so did I. When the disco began a rush of excitement filtered through my body as I stepped into the room with all of my friends. I had a lot of fun doing the camp act because I was able to laugh at my mistakes and at the same time have an awesome time. Whilst I was watching the other acts I thought that some of them where over done, funny, entertaining, perfect and very random. I enjoyed camp cave hill creek as much as any one else did. I think that the year threes and fours will have a really good time and enjoy the experience. I can’t wait to go to next years camp if it’s going to be as fun as this years.

Camp Reflection
I felt a warm rush travel across me which made me feel a lot safer, but then of course something always had to go wrong.

CAVE HILL CREEK
Camp Cave-Hill was way better then I would’ve expected! The activities I like the most were canoeing, the ropes course and the archery, and the most challenging ones were orienteering and map reading. What I loved the most was waking up with my friends and the fab shots I got! What was hard for me was being away from my parents and my bed! I really missed my bed! What I learnt about was teamwork and how to co-operate in a group better. The concert was a lot better then had expected. The acts were really good and they were really well choreographed. I was really happy that people like my group’s act because we were afraid that people wouldn’t like it! On the way back home from camp, I realized how much I will miss camp! I can’t wait until I go on high school camp!

Camp was nothing like I expected it to be, it was even better than I thought. The most challenging thing at camp was the night walk on the first night, it was fun but very tiring. I thought that a drop bear would fall on my pack but it luckily didn’t!

I had the most fun on the rope course, my group the Creeps had Mrs Jackson for the rope course and it was great. My group lifted me up into the tyre and I got through it! The bad thing was when I tripped over the wire and I cut myself badly.

The best thing at camp was the food and spending time with my friends in the cabin, I had a great time. At camp I didn’t like the lights out at 10:00,I wasn’t tired by then but on the second night I fell asleep straight away because I was so tired from the concert and disco because I was dancing so much!

My favourite activity was archery because everyone got a shot and it was fair. I almost got a bull’s-eye, I was so close! I am happy I got to do archery because it’s a once in a life time experience and I have never done archery before, I am just happy I got to actually do it!

I’m just glad I got to go to Camp Cave Hill Creek and have such a great time(especially seeing everyone in their pyjamas!). I wish I could have this experience again.

CAMP 07

I am so looking forward to camp. I’ve been going over checking my bag over and over again to make sure I didn’t forget anything. I am waving to school now, as I walk onto the bus. The bus ride wasn’t really boring because I tried to do things to amuse myself. When Mr.C said there is about 62 km left, then I wanted to teleport there. When we got there I was relieved. My friends were in cabin 8. We got into groups shortly after we unpacked our bags. Our group was called the creeps, then Mr.C read what each group was doing first, we had canoeing. I was looking forward to canoeing more than anything. I was so excited when I saw all the canoes in the shed. Amanda, Desmond and I went to lift one up but we didn’t predict it was going to be that heavy. I was partners with Desmond for canoeing. I went at the back of the canoe because Mr.C said grade 6’s were to go at the back because they have more experience. I was hardly in place when Mr.C suddenly pushed the canoe into the water. I was not expecting it, so my heart beat hard for a second. I did canoeing last year so I didn’t have a problem. When Mr.C said there was a wallaby drinking by the lake. Desmond and I paddled very fast towards it as we couldn’t see it from where we were. I was so amazed because when we got there it didn’t go away. When we finished we went back to the recreation room and went on to our next activity which was bike riding. Bike riding was fun especially the end when we went up and down a hill. For dinner we had fish and vegetables, it was nice and the fish melted in my mouth. At night it was so fun because we talked, played, let off fart bombs and went into other people’s cabins. Nathan, Michael and I stayed up the whole night. The first activity the next day was orienteering. Orienteering was probably the worst activity. Then we took photos, that was good because it was a great chance to get good photos. Mapping wasn’t the best of activities. Next we had ropes coarse which was also good. The very last activity was archery. Archery was so good that it was probably the best, I got in the yellow circle. Next we got dress ready for the concert. The concert was good there were some funny acts. The disco was O.K but I started to fall asleep, I shouldn’t of stayed up all night. At night I couldn’t stay up so I just went to sleep. In the morning I packed up all my stuff. We went on a walk then we stoped to do hut building. Our hut was bad. The bus home wasn’t to bad. When we got back, I had to wait for ages for my mum. It was a very fun camp.

Camp Cavehill
When we first entered Camp Cavehill I felt a rush of excitement run through me. We were finally there; after that long boring bus ride. I couldn’t wait to get outside into the cool fresh air. When I first saw the lake I was amazed too see how beautiful it was. Then when I entered my cabin I felt so lucky to have the ensuite, till we found the dead frog. It was gross! Then we did compass work. I didn’t enjoy it much but it was fun to do it with a friend. I really enjoyed the breaks because we could sit with our friends or play table tennis. I really enjoyed the rope course because it was fun to watch Samantha do something over and over again, until she finally got it. I also liked it when we had to work as a team. When I had dinner that night I was surprised because the food didn’t taste as bad as I thought it would, but it didn’t taste as good as home. When we did archery the next day I was annoyed because I kept missing the target but I got better. Then we did bike riding with Miss Jackson, that was fun but I hated my bike because it felt like it was going to fall apart. When we did canoeing at fist I was scared about falling in but we got the hang of it the only bad part after that was when we couldn’t stop the canoe and went straight into the reeds, because we freaked out! I enjoyed taking photos because it gave me time to enjoy the scenery and have a look around the places I haven’t been to yet. Then we did our final activity the map reading, I enjoyed that because I saw an echidna but I didn’t enjoy getting my foot stuck in mud. That night I had a lot of fun doing the camp act, and couldn’t stop laughing. The next day I had a lot of fun working as a team and making huts. When it was time to leave I was a bit sad but I knew that we had to go home soon. I had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed going to Camp Cavehill and would go back again.

Now the moment of truth I am going to pick up the bow. I am nervous but excited at the same time and I am a hoping to get a bullseye. As I pick up the arrow and put it on the bowstring I pull it back the Mrs Jackson told us. POW! WOW wait… that wasn’t me mine it didn’t work! I‘ll try again, I pull the bow back… I let go YES it was mine I’m proud that it worked but it only went half way. Dam oh well. Next time I will get it hopefully. I am in the line and I am trying to think of a way to hold the arrow and let go so I get a bullseye but everybody is going crazy because they got their arrow to hit the bottom of the hay. It’s my shot and I’m now about to get a bullseye. WWHHOSSHH I let go and it’s flying. YES I am proud I hit the bottom of the hay. Next time I will get a bullseye.
WELL HOPEFULLY!

Cavehill Creek 2007 camp was an experience of a lifetime and i will never forget it!! the activities were unforgetable, the disco was fun and the nights were AWESOME!
One of my favourite activities was the low ropes activity. It got me excited and my blood rushing rapidly. One of my other favorite acitvities was the canoeing when we raced. It was realy fun and I'd want to do it again. when I did the buke riding I had a giant Rush of energy from how rapid and fans i was going. the orrienteering was fun when we got lost but still made it to the end just after everyone else. I liked the compass work because it got me to think hard and i learned how to properly use a compass.the talent show was really funy and amusing to see my friends and fellow classmates dance, sing and party around for our pursonal amusement. I really enjoyed the nightwalk. It was funny to hear the girls scream their heads off when we told them about DROP BEARS.
IT WAS THE BEST CAMP EXPERIENCE EVER!

Genevieve

I was in the canoe my excitement was over coming me. I stared at the dark water thinking something was going to lash out at me. I slowly started to paddle. My heart was beating a mile a minute but i didn’t seem to take any notice of it. Still paddling, Amanda and i were already half way. My thoughts were going bizzerk and my heart started to relax. I slowly stopped paddling and was staring at the scenery. Someone was shouting out that there was a wallaby. I quickly started paddling to the wallaby. I was so excited i couldn’t think straight. Then we suddenly came to a stop. My heart thumping on my chest, my thoughts blank and my eyes wide open. I stared at the wallaby, scared to move or speak. Everyone just sat in the canoes staring at it. Then it moved (ran away). I couldn’t believe what i saw. My heart was jumping with excitement and i started to slowly go back in the open water. I had relaxed but i had lots of thoughts in my mind. I quickly paddled back to the canoe shed. My thoughts were jumping rapidly up and down in my head. I slowly thought to myself “What could be next”.

When we walked out to the canoes I felt nervous and excited for my first time in a canoe. When I took my first step into the canoe I felt unstable and way out of my comfort zone, like I was walking along a bridge that took big sways each time you stepped.
When Hannah hopped in I felt safer, because I wasn’t sitting there by myself. As Mr. C pushed us off the land I felt the boat tilt just a little bit. All of a sudden my I could feel my body fill with excitement and there was still a tremble of terror.
As we floated down the lake Hannah instructed me, and soon I felt normal about canoeing. I wasn’t nervous anymore and I felt more and more excited each time I paddled.
When we started heading down the river Hannah and I had to work hard to keep out of the reads, because I was terrified of leaches. As we started heading back to the canoe shed I felt very tired, but I was proud of myself that I had done something that was way out of my comfort zone.

Camp CaveHill Reflection

As I think back to camp I think of it as an fantastic experience. When thinking of camp I have many different emotions. I think camp as an experience to build relationship between people and build trust between one and another. Building trust was really important because most of the activities were team activities that need a lot of trust and cooperation to be accomplished and succeeded. Camp helped us to develop skills through the actives we learnt such as orienteering, canoeing, mountain bike riding, rope climbing and hut building. One of the best things about camp was living with my friends, eating together and sharing a room together. Bur my most favourite memory from camp is taking part in a camp act because the acts were so lame that it was really funny. Overall camp was a great experience and I loved it!!!

Camp Cave Hill Creek!

If I had to sum up camp into one word, I couldn’t it was so great it’s impossible to explain it.
On the way there was the most exciting part. On the way back was the most disappointing part. And actually being at camp was the best part. My challenge was getting out and getting dirty and not worrying about my clothes and hair!!

The activity I enjoyed the most was the ropes but then comes canoeing.
Ropes were great and enjoyable because it was easy for me but canoeing was great because it was a challenge and something to strive for.
I was so happy with my cabin, it was so awesome we had heaps of fun!

For me I think camp is about moving out of your comfort zone and working as a team to achieve your goal. Camp really made me appreciate everything you have back at home, I felt so grateful.
Surprisingly I managed without all my electronics.
Camp was defiantly one of the best highlights of the year.

Camp Cave Hill Creek

Camp Cave Hill Creek was one of the best experiences of my life. I loved everything. From the food to the activities. It was also great to be away from my family but at the same time I missed them HEAPS!

As soon as I got to camp I knew that I would have the time of my life. When I got given my cabin my friends and I all jumped and ran in chucking our bags and jackets everywhere. As soon as the teachers went away we were jumping up and down, screaming and having a ball.

The activities were great! My three favourites were the ropes course, the bike riding and the canoeing. These activities involved trust, teamwork, patience, courage, and believing in yourself. Another good thing about the activities was that no one ended up in the drink. Mr. C says that’s the first time no one fell in the lake.

Camp also taught us skills that we might have to use in life. Like compass work and map reading. Though all of the activities taught us something in a different way. Like the canoeing and the ropes course taught us teamwork. The bike riding made us use determination. So many things use values.

I love camp. I never really wanted to come back. Camp taught me so many things. From the time I embarked on this journey to the time it ended. I can’t wait to go next year but as a year seven.

When we went to camp i was not expecting much but when we got there I was feeling a feeling i have never felt. It was an unforgettable experience and it will be one of my greatest moments of my primary school life. My favourite part of camp was the acts and the disco they were really fun and when Daniel and i was getting ready to MC the concert.

On Wednesday the 10th of October grade 5/6jp and 5/6cp went on camp to Cave Hill Creek for three days.

The first activity for our group and me was Archery I felt a bit nervous because I had never atte
mpted archery before. The closet I got to a bulls-eye was right on the yellow line and I felt so good because I achieved something.

Next up was Canoeing I felt this tingle going down my spine, I was pared up with Ben Camallari. When we were in the water we decided to race with Simeon and Julian and Chiara and Elana we gave the girls a head start it came down to a very close race but Ben and I won.

After that Mountain Bike Riding was next. After I saw the bikes I said to myself this is going to be fun and I was so exited. Simeon and myself got lost but we weren’t worried but then we found Mrs Mc Hugh and that was a bit of a relief.

Last but not least we did ropes it’s a course. You have to walk on ropes with small bits of rope to give you support to balance yourself. Once I finished the course I was tempted to do it again even though I nearly broke my back. I ended up doing it seven times it was so fun and I still want to do it again.

But the best bit of camp was going to bed because we stayed up all night making lots of noises and keeping the teachers up to all hours of the morning and eating lots and lots of lollies. The one thing the teachers didn’t know but do now was that we sunk into the grade 5 boys cabin and the grade 6 girls cabin.

It was one of the best times of my primary school life . I cant wait till next years camp.

Craig

At school on Tuesday, the day before camp I was really happy that I was with my friends. The first activity that we did was the low ropes obstacle course, witch was really easy.

The next activity was archery it was really hard at first but then it got easier after a while. I was one of the people who got a bullseye.

When it was our turn to do mountain bike riding we were the one’s that got the new bikes, during the ride our group was scared that we had lost Mrs. Jackson because we couldn’t see her anywhere.

In canoeing I was with Michael c, when we tried to race Adam and Adrian we lost, twice. When we stopped and changed places we went much faster.

When we did mapping finding the posts was easy but unscrambling the letters was hard.

I got heaps of photos of my friends and me plus lots of photos of the camp.

I liked the food especially the pancakes.

On the night walk we came across a dead kangaroo.

During the meal time I was annoyed that we couldn’t sit with our friends but then I got used to it.

Daniel

Camp was an experience that will be remembered for the rest of my life. The nights were late and exhausting, the days were fun and enjoyable, the camp was awesome. I really enjoyed camp and I didn’t want to leave but at the same time I missed home. The activities were really fun. I really liked the canoes because I was on the front of the canoe, I was with my friend and it was exciting. The ropes course I was looking forward to until my spotter Mrs. Camilleri didn’t catch me when I fell off. Everyday when I woke up I felt tired but so excited for the day the blood was pumping through me. The night walks were so fun but pretty tiring and exhausting at the same time. I was abit worried on the night walk because I thought I would trip 0r something. The wildlife I saw was awesome Echidnas, Kangaroos, Wallaby, Birds, and Bugs and more. The one animal that I enjoyed seeing the most was the Echidna because they’re rare to see and I love how they waddle, they’re so cute. The scenery was breathtaking, looking out from the recroom and onto the lake. Every where you went on cave hill creek was the view was amazing. You could see up in the mountains and the big trees. The weather was great and I pleased that we were able to get all the activities done. I was very happy with my cabin all my friends were in it and my activity group was good aswell. The food we had was delicious and I enjoyed eating it especially the ‘’Fish Fillet’’ (Fish-Fill-Ey). The bus ride was on the way back was long and lifeless but I tried to make it fun. everyone was sleepy and exhausted … I wasn’t because I was rushed with energy. I will never forget my time at cave hill. The memories will be treasured for ever … and ever!

CAVE HILL CREEK

On wednesday 10th of October the grade 5/6's went t
camp. I loved how we went canoeing and it was challenging and fun.I loved all the activities.
It was great how we lived with almost NO T.V. or other electronics.About a day before camp we had to write a short peice of writing about our expectations of camp, and it met most of mine but it did'nt look ANYTHING like I thought.I loved mountain bike riding it was really BUMPY! Archery was good as well, but i did'nt get a bulls-eye.The food there was alright, it was nice. We saw lots of wildlife there, like Kangaroos & wallobies. I had a great time watching HOLES on the camp's television. Staying with all my mates at night was FANTASTIC, just talking and stuff. As you can see, I've messed around with a photo to make it look like Bart Simpson is in a canoe. The obsticle course was challenging, because you had to climb up ropes and balence and do all types of things with ropes. Photo shooting was GOOD because I got to take all kinds of shots. But my favourite activity was hut building. Anyway, I'd just like to say... I LOVE CAMP!! -michael Talia

CAVE HILL CREEK
I am so fortunate to attend my first camp this year at Cave Hill Creek ,and l know have many wonderful memories
and experiences.

One of my biggerst challengers was the night before having butterflies in my stomach and knowing
that l was going to miss my family.
all the comfy things at home.

What l really liked about Cave hill Creek was non stop action and non stop activities. l really liked being
with all my friends under the one roof. I liked doing free-time because we all played a soccer match.
We all got along really well.

I didn't like the most was lights out at 10:00 but we stayed up. I didn't really like the cooking because l was so used to my mum making good food.

I am very glad l took pictures of camp so l will have them forever. I love taking to my friends about camp so camp Rum-bug hear l come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
